River to Sea

This is the first single from the upcoming album, Home, with Samuel Vincent (double bass) and John Parker (drums).

I had spent months watching the genocide in Gaza by Israel and their allies unfold on social media, and was appalled by the Western world’s ability to not only ignore what was (and still is) happening but to actively support it. I was also struck by the beauty, resilience and strength of the Palestinian people, and their determination to survive and one day return to their homes despite the war crimes being committed upon them.

River to Sea is inspired by and dedicated to the people of Palestine. It is mournful and angry, but also hopeful as Palestinians and those who support their fight for freedom. It starts with a nod to the 1970s protest song ‘Leve Palestina’, which is now used as a rallying cry for Palestinians and the millions of people who protest in their name.

From the river to the sea,

Palestine will be free
